Donata Vivanti Pagetti (Vice-President)


Donata VivantiDonata Vivanti Pagetti was born in Milan, Italy, in 1948.

She is the mother of four children, among which twin brothers with severe autism, needing intense support in representing themselves. Doctor in medicine since 1973, she stopped her carrier since 1993 to dedicate her life to advocate autism at national and international level and work full time on a voluntary basis within organisations involved in the sector.

Among other activities, at national level she has been president of the national association 'Autismo Italia' since 1998 and she is vice-president of the National Federation on Autism, vice-president of the Italian Forum on Disability (FID), vice-president of Italian Federation for Overcoming Disability (FISH), and member of the Italian Focal Point on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) towards the Italian Ministry of labour and social policies.

Her involvement at European level within the advocacy organisations in the field of autism and disability is well known. She has been member of the board of directors since 1998 and president of Autism Europe from 2000 to 2007, being responsible of several European projects including the campaign for the European Year of People with Disabilities (EYPD) 2003. She also participated as policy expert in the project 'Included in Society', she was founding member of the European Coalition for Community Living and she is advisor of the Zero Project of the World Future Council.

Since 2005, she has been elected EDF vice-president.
