An-Sofie Leenknecht's Biography

Joined us in 2012.

An-Sofie coordinates EDFs initiatives related to human rights and gender equality in international cooperation. She supports EDFs advocacy to ensure the EU takes a leading role in promoting the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) globally. She manages EDFs cooperation with universities and researchers on human rights issues.

Background

She previously worked as a legal officer at UNIA, the Belgian national human rights institute and CRPD monitoring body, as a human rights trainee at the UN human rights office in Santiago de Chile,  and as a research trainee at the Human Rights Law centre at the University of Nottingham in the UK.
