  • The UN CRPD enters into force in Ireland

    19.04.2018 Finally, today the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities enters into force in Ireland! It is now in force in all EU Member States! Finian McGrath TD, the minister for Disability in Ireland promised it would bring "immediately, present and concrete benefits". We hope this is the case.     16.04.2018 On 14 March 2018 in Delhi, India, Sightsavers India organised the launch of a new project entitled “Building partnerships for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Empowering organisations of persons with disabilities”.     19.04.2018 The Europass portal, is an EU-funded online tool designed to help Europeans create an online CV and a cover letter, using the Europass standardised format. The Europass formats were launched by the European Union to help Europeans everywhere easily communicate their competences across countries, and they require a CV in Europass for most job applications. Unfortunately, the Europass online tool is still not accessible to all citizens.   • 2018 Conference of States Parties to the CRPD

    The 11th session of the Conference of States Parties to the CRPD takes place in 12-14 June in New York. The Conference will, as every year, take stock of the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The theme is “Leaving no one behind through the full implementation of the CRPD” On June 11th the Civil Society Forum takes place, at the UN headquarters in New York.
