Luisa Bosisio and Francisco Vañó Ferre elected as board members of EDF

During EDF's General Assembly, EDF elected two new members for it's board.

Luisa Paola Bosisio

Representing the Italian Disability Forum (FID)

Luisa Paola Bosisio is also a member of the EDF Women Committee as Italian Disability Forum (FID) representative. Since 2007 she has been the president of FONOS – Fondazione Orizzonti Sereni, an organisation of parents of people with disabilities who are unable to represent themselves. Luisa has been active in different organisations of persons with disabilities at local and national level since 1990 and was President of the National Disability Council (CND) until 2011. She contributed with her expertise in projects and training courses in the field of human rights, mainstreaming of disability policies, non-discrimination in employment, rights and good quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities. She gave her contribution to the drawing up of the Italian Disability Forum's Alternative Report on the implementation of the UNCRPD in Italy, as well as to the Italian Disability Forum's written submissions to the UN Committee on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women, the UN Human Rights Committee (about the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights), the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, and the Council of Europe's Group of Experts on Action against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence. Luisa is very familiar with the European Disability Forum's policies and represented EDF and the Italian Disability Forum at international and national events.

Francisco Vañó Ferre

Mr. Francisco Vañó Ferre has been involved in the Third Sector for more than thirty years.

Since he became injured in 1971, he has collaborated with different areas regarding disability. including becoming a member, even as President, of the main associations in the Spanish sector of disability (ASPAYM, CERMI, PREDIF…). From 2004 to 2015, he was a member of the Spanish Commission for Social Affairs, for Integral Disability Policies, and for International Cooperation.e. He has not only focused on physical disability, but has made great allies and partners in all kind of associations around the country, and even around Europe, regardless of the type of disability they represent. Interested in all the aspects involving the lives of people with disability, he is the author of one of the bestselling books regarding disability in Spain, as well as a patron for the international contact with countries all around the world. He is also a member of the Board of the Spanish Forum of Justice and Disability from the General Council of Judicial Power.

Mr. Vañó has been condecorated with the greater distinctions (Golden Cross of the Civil Order of Social Solidarity of Spain, Diplomat Friendship Medal of the Government of Taiwan, Golden Medal of the Spanish National Paraplegic Society, and Honorary President of COCEMFE, in the region of Castilla y León). He has recently been appointed ‘Official Friend of Disability’ from the Spanish Representative Committee of People with Disability (CERMI).
