    18.09.2018 The Bureau of the Disability Intergroup of the European Parliament met the 13 of September to discuss the progress on the work plan for 2018, as well as its communication plan. EDF, as Secretariat of the Disability Intergroup, gave an update on the main priorities until May 2019, namely the EU budget proposals and the upcoming EU elections.     12.09.2018 It is with great sorrow that we learned of the death of Kalle Könkkölä, a champion of disability rights in Finland. Kalle was the first (and only until now) Finnish Member of the Parliament with a disability. Kalle was one of the two first Green members of the Finnish Parliament and the executive director of Threshold Association, a cross-disability organization which campaigns for the human rights of persons with disabilities.   • Goodbye to a great disability activist & EDF board member Boris Šuštaršič.

    28.08.2018 It is with great sorrow that we learned of the death of Slovenian disability activist Boris Šuštaršič, a great disability activist and EDF Board member from 2005 until last year. Boris Šuštaršič was instrumental for the creation of a strong Slovenian network of persons with disabilities. He was President of the National Council of Disabled Organizations of Slovenia and authored and co-authored several articles and papers on the topic of disabilities.
