Accessible Airport Award applications are now open!

Accessible Airport Award applications are now open!

For the fifth year we have launched the Accessible Airport Award in cooperation with Airport Council International Europe (ACI-Europe). The award is the result of a Memorandum of Understanding signed with ACI-Europe in 2016, and celebrates airports in Europe that have achieved high level of accessibility as well as range and the quality of the assistance services to persons with disabilities. By sharing best practices, we aim to motivate more airports to advance accessibility of air travel.

Last year’s winner, Gatwick airport was highly commended for its close cooperation with organisations of persons with disabilities. Past winners include Pafos Arport (2018), Larnaka Airport (in 2017) and the Dublin Airport (in 2016).

The selection of the best airport will be done by EDF transport experts, members of the executive committee, and representative of the European Commission. The winner will be announced during the 16th ACI Europe Awards on 17 June 2020 in Geneva, Switzerland. If you know an airport that has made big achievements in accessibility and assistance services, encourage them to apply by 27 March 2020.

More information and application form are available on the webpage of ACI-Europe.
