The screening of Academy Award winning Apple Original Film “CODA”, organized by the European Disability Forum (EDF) and Apple, will take place on Thursday 2nd of February 2023 at the European Parliament (Room PHS07C050 from 16:30 to 19:00 CET, Brussels time). The event will be hosted by MEP Brando Benifei, Vice-Chair of the Disability Integroup.
Making history as the first film with a predominantly Deaf cast to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards, “CODA” centres around Ruby, a Child Of Deaf Adults and the only hearing person in her home.
The screening will offer an opportunity to share perspectives on equal access for persons with disabilities in the EU, along with welcoming remarks from MEP Brando Benifei, European Union of the Deaf’s President, Sofia Isari, and Apple’s Global Head of Accessibility Policy & Initiatives, Sarah Herrlinger.
The deadline for registration is the 23rd of January 2023 at noon. Please bear in mind that places are limited, so they will be assigned on a first come first served basis.
