The National organization of persons with disabilities of Serbia (NOOIS) is composed of diverse network of organizations – members (with 14 National Associations of Persons with Disabilities in which there are more than 450 local associations throughout of Serbia).

It was established on July 22nd 2007 and it represents the united movement of persons with disabilities of Serbia, implying the most important political strength in advocating their common interests and needs. NOOIS is representing over 800.000 persons with disabilities and their legal representatives and also working on inclusion of persons with disabilities in society, full respect for human rights and non-discrimination based on disability.

The mission is increasing inclusion of persons with disabilities in society, full respect of human rights and non-discrimination based on disability, through partnership of the unique disability movement and the state institutions in passing and applying the disability Laws and other documents, in compliance with UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Primary activities are: legislation and advocacy, monitoring the implementation of regulations and cooperation with state institutions and independent bodies, reactions to violating human rights and the cases of discrimination, publishing and educational activities, the media activities of NOOIS and activities aimed at informing the public about the status and rights of persons with disabilities and raising disability awareness, international activities.
