Biography

Claire Desaint Biography

Now retired, she is committed to the promotion of women’s place in society since 1997.

She is  vice-president of Femmes pour le Dire, Femmes pour Agir, an organisation promoting the citizenship of disabled women and fighting against discrimination and violence.

She is vice-president of Réussir l’égalité Femmes/Hommes which works on equality between girls and boys and between women and men in education.

She is general secretary of Handi Femme Epanouie which develops counsels in sexual and reproductive rights and support for maternity of disabled women.

She has been for several years administrator in the association Femmes et sciences.

She was a technical advisor in the cabinet of Nicole Ameline, French Minister for Parity and Professional Equality from 2002 to 2004, in charge of the issue of disabled women.

Afrerwards, she worked as a consultant in professional equality for companies from 2005 to 2015, leading training courses on gender equality and diversity.

After a Master’s degree in Contemporary History, she did postgraduate studies in Social Psychology at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes and at Paris VII.
