Ongoing Disability Hub Europe (DHub)

A new European initiative led by Fundación ONCE and co-funded by the European Social Fund, aimed at building a reference space to work on the binomial Disability and Sustainability.

Disability Hub Europe (DHub), is a multi-stakeholder engagement initiative that involves relevant organizations of different kinds. Among others, L’Oréal, CSR Europe, Global Reporting Initiative and the European Disability Forum are already on board.

Aligned with the Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals, the final goal of DHub is to foster social and labour inclusion of people with disabilities in Europe while promoting inclusive and sustainable business. The project will be developed until 2020 and will focus on disseminating best practices and mobilizing actors on how disability is or can be integrated in business and other organizations’ strategies looking for an inclusive sustainable future. The project is carried out within the framework of the “Spanish Operational Programme on Social Inclusion and Social Economy 2014-2020”.

DHub is built upon the experience of the European Netowork for Corporate Social Responsibility and Disability (CSR+D), led by Fundación ONCE between 2009 and 2015, also with the co-funding of the ESF and with the support of the European Disability Forum.

EDF contribution to DHub will be linked to actions such as:

• Disseminating DHub activities and results through EDF communication channels
• Contributing and supporting policy incidence actions carried out in the framework of DHub related to sustainability, CSR, and diversity from the disability perspective.
• Facilitating contact with stakeholders at the EU level who can have synergies with DHub.

DHub is a unique initiative with a cross-sector and a pan-European approach, playing the role of a singular European thematic platform.
