UN Disability Committee announces countries for review for 2024

The UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities published the countries that will be evaluated in 2024 and beyond.

In the upcoming sessions of August-September 2023, the Committee will conduct reviews of Austria and Germany, while also addressing the list of issues concerning Finland and Slovenia.

In 2024, the Committee will have:

  • Session and pre-session in March 2024, with the review of Azerbaijan and Sweden and adoption of the list of issues on Bosnia and Herzegovina, Monaco, Moldova and Cyprus
  • Session and pre-session in August and September 2024, with the review of Belarus, Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands and Ukraine

In addition, the Committee updated its tentative timeline of country reviews where you can find additional information on when your country is likely to be evaluated.

The review of the European Union is postponed to March 2025.

In October, EDF will organise a training for members (and their respective members) in order to facilitate their preparation for the upcoming review. The specific date and agenda will be announced in our weekly Members Mailing newsletter and as well as on the dedicated member area of EDF’s website.
