9-18 July: High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development

The High-Level Political Forum is a wide gathering of stakeholders focused on implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

During the Forum, 14 European countries will present their Voluntary National Review (VNR). The countries are: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and Switzerland.

The national reviews leading to the presentation of the VNRs must be state-led and involve multiple stakeholders, including persons with disabilities.

The theme of this years’ forum will be “Transformation towards sustainable and resilient societies”.

The Forum will focus on 6 Sustainable Development Goals:

  • Goal 6. Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all

  • Goal 7. Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all

  • Goal 11. Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable

  • Goal 12. Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

  • Goal 15. Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss

  • Goal 17: Partnership for Goals
