May 18: Webinar: Human Rights violations of persons with disabilities during COVID-19

Date:
Monday, May 18, 2020 - 15:00
Duration:
1 hour and a half / 90 minutes
Location:
Online

The COVID-19 pandemic and the response to it by governments created situations of severe infringement of the rights of persons with disabilities: inaccessible information, isolation, abuse and neglect in residential institutions, measures that impeded community-based support and an increase of violence, in particular against women with disabilities, harassment of persons with disabilities, among others.

  • How can policymakers, human rights institutions and organisations of persons with disabilities act to identify, stop these violations and provide redress?
  • How can we proceed in the upcoming months to ensure that the human rights of persons with disabilities are upheld in this time of crisis?
