The first board meeting of the International Disability Alliance (IDA) after its legal incorporation on 7 June 2013 took place in New York on 13-15 July, prior to the Conference of State Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. One of the main issues of the agenda of the meeting was the elections to the different Executive Officer positions of its Board. EDF President, Yannis Vardakastanis, got elected as Chair of IDA.

The rest of the positions in IDA Board were covered by:

During the meeting, the IDA Board discussed issues relating to disability statistics, indigenous persons with disabilities, Community-based rehabilitation, older persons and the World Bank safeguards review process, while thorough discussions were also held on the post-2015 agenda and the High-Level Meeting on Disability and Development (HLMDD), which represent the most important advocacy activities for IDA at this time.
