This event marks the first meeting of the AI Community of Practice, established as part of the Empowered by AI project funded by Google.org. The Community of Practice aims to create a space for organisations, persons with disabilities, advocates, practitioners and other interested stakeholders to exchange experiences, share good practices, discuss challenges and learn from one another about the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
The first session, Get AI-Ready in Your Organisation, will explore practical steps organisations can take to introduce and use AI responsibly, safely and effectively.
During the event, the European Disability Forum (EDF) will share its own experience and journey towards becoming AI-ready. Participants will learn about the measures EDF has implemented, including the development of an AI policy, staff capacity-building activities and practical guidance for the responsible use of AI. The session will highlight lessons learned, challenges encountered and recommendations that may support other organisations starting or advancing their own AI journey.
The event will also provide an opportunity for participants to connect with peers, exchange experiences and identify priority topics for future Community of Practice meetings.
