The countdown is nearly over. The European Forum for Disaster Risk Reduction (EFDRR) is next week, 24-26 November. Disability-inclusive preparedness, resilience building and response are essential if we are to stop the discrimination that people with disabilities face during humanitarian crises.

European Disability Forum (EDF) together with the Italian National Fire and Rescue Service is organising a side event at this conference, with objectives:
• Highlight the increased risk that persons with disability are exposed to during humanitarian crises
• Give an overview of the situation regarding disability inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) practice in Europe and Central Asia
• Showcase an example of meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in training of fire and rescue professionals in Italy
