On 24 July 2025, the European Disability Forum (EDF), together with the Italian Disability Forum (FID), the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine (NAPD), and the League of the Strong, sent an open letter to the newly appointed Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
In the letter, we congratulate the new government, express our solidarity with the people of Ukraine, and:
- Reiterate the importance of ensuring the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities in Ukraine’s recovery and reform processes, as well as in the EU accession path.
- Highlight the need for deinstitutionalisation, independent living, and full accessibility across all sectors, in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and EU standards.
We trust that our messages will be heard and considered in the government’s work, and we look forward to continued cooperation to ensure that Ukraine’s recovery is truly inclusive and leaves no one behind.
