The European Disability Forum (EDF) is launching a new sub‑granting programme under the Google.org funded project “Empowered by AI.” This funding opportunity supports EDF member organisations and their members who want to strengthen their work on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and ensure that persons with disabilities play a leading role in shaping Europe’s AI landscape.
This online info session will guide participants to the objectives of the programme, the types of activities that can be funded, and how organisations can use the grants to build capacity, raise awareness, or implement practical AI‑related initiatives at local, national, or European level.
Participants will receive an overview of:
- Eligibility requirements for EDF members and their members
- Types of activities that can be supported, including awareness campaigns, training, educational materials, AI system testing, and events
- The Get AI Ready -Train‑the‑Trainers programme and the requirement to nominate a participant
- Grant size, duration, and eligible costs
- evaluation criteria and what makes a strong proposal
- How to apply and key deadlines
The session will include time for questions. It is an opportunity for organisations to clarify requirements, explore potential project ideas, and ensure they are well‑prepared to submit a competitive application before the 5 July 2026 deadline.
