Have your say! Workshop for European DPOs in preparation of the Global Disability Summit

The Government of Norway, the International Disability Alliance (IDA), and the Atlas Alliance will co-host the 2nd Global Disability Summit (GDS) in February 2022. The Summit will mobilize efforts for the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), the principle of ‘leaving no one behind’ of the Sustainable Development Goals, and on building back better and more inclusive with regards to Covid-19. It will be an opportunity to strengthen disability-inclusive development and provide a platform to secure financial and political commitments by national governments, bilateral and multilateral donors, the private sector, civil society organisations, and organisations of persons with disabilities (DPOs).

In preparation for this Summit, EDF and IDA is organising an online workshop to:

  • Ensure European DPOs have full information about the GDS, including what happened at the previous GDS and what progress was made since then,
  • Present the priority themes of the GDS 2022;
  • And explore their relevance for the European work on international cooperation and humanitarian action

The workshop will be on the 15th of October at 1 PM. To register, click on this link. You are very welcome to join. Translation into English and Russian will be foreseen as well as international sign and captioning in English.
