Associate Parostok

NGO <em>Vinnytsia City Organization for Social Development of Specific Categories of Vulnerable Youth “Parostok”</em> is a community-based organisation founded in 1999 in Vinnytsia, Ukraine. Our mission is to promote the development, inclusion, and full self-realisation of persons with disabilities, grounded in the principles of equality, accessibility, and participation. Today, Parostok unites 80 members, 15 volunteers, 6 staff, and provides long-term support to 502 internally displaced families with disabilities. We work with persons with disabilities, people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer patients, and other socially vulnerable youth and adults, as well as their families and partner NGOs as well as support OPDs across Ukraine through the cooperation with Abilis Foundation (Finland).

Who we Are?

The organisation promotes the development, inclusion, and full self-realisation of persons with disabilities, grounded in the principles of equality, accessibility, and participation. 

Objectives

  • To protect the social, economic, and legal rights of persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups.
  • To create equal opportunities for personal development, education, employment, and social inclusion.
  • To strengthen the capacity of NGOs of persons with disabilities across Ukraine.
  • To provide accessible services and programmes that support independent living and community participation.
  • To promote gender equality and empower women with disabilities.
  • To ensure continuous support for internally displaced persons (IDPs) with disabilities.
  • To develop inclusive practices, resources, and digital tools for nationwide use.

What we do?

Parostok implements more than 200 successfully completed projects supported by local, national, and international donors, reaching over 60,000 beneficiaries. Our ongoing activities include:

  • Social and legal assistance for persons with disabilities and their families.
  • Education and employment support, including vocational guidance and inclusion in the labour market.
  • Rehabilitation and day-care programmes for persons with intellectual disabilities.
  • Recreational and socialisation activities, including inclusive trips and community events.
  • Volunteer development across the Vinnytsia region.
  • Humanitarian support for IDPs with disabilities through a dedicated Humanitarian Hub.
  • Workshops, sewing and laundry services, and skill-building programmes for people with severe physical and intellectual disabilities.
  • Capacity-building trainings for NGOs of persons with disabilities from various regions.
  • Development of inclusive digital resources, including the free online learning platform “Navchajsya Dostupno!” (Learn in an Accessible Way).
