Foteini Zafeiropoulou was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and a postgraduate qualification in autism training. Throughout her career, she has been a dedicated advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities, promoting the full inclusion of persons with autism in particular, and all persons with disabilities more broadly, across all areas of society.

Since 2008, Foteini has served as a member of the Executive Secretariat of the National Confederation of Disabled People of Greece (NCDP). Following the organisation’s 2021 elections, she assumed responsibility for its international relations, strengthening cooperation and representation at the European and international levels.

She served as Vice President of the Panhellenic Federation of Associations of Parents and Guardians of Disabled People (POSGArneA) from 2011 to 2019 and has held the position of General Secretary since 2019. In addition, she has been Vice President of the Greek Society for the Protection of Autistic Persons since 2014 and has led its Thessaloniki Department as President for more than 20 years.

At the European level, Foteini has been actively engaged with the European Disability Forum (EDF). She was elected to its Executive Committee in 2026. She has also been a member of EDF’s Social Policy and Inclusion Committee and Women’s Committee, contributing to policy development and advocacy efforts aimed at advancing the rights, inclusion and equality of persons with disabilities across Europe.
