Klaus Meyer zu Brickwedde, Social Firms Europe CEFEC

Born in 1981, Klaus Meyer zu Brickwedde is a sociologist and policy adviser from Germany active in the field of social firms and inclusive employment at national and international level.

Klaus has a Magister Artium degree in sociology, political science and philosophy. He has been working for BAG Inklusionsfirmen, the German association of inclusive enterprises, since 2015 and is a policy adviser for the organization. BAG Inklusionsfirmen represents over 900 inclusive enterprises in Germany and 30,000 employees of which about 40% have a disability.

Since 2016 Klaus has been a member of the executive committee of Social Firms Europe CEFEC. He is also a member of CEFEC’s EDF-related working group. CEFEC represents social firms, cooperatives and employment initiatives in 23 European countries. It has been part of EDF for many years and is linked to EDF through numerous cooperations, joint activities and contributions within the disability movement, especially concerning psychosocial issues (for example in the context of the Oviedo protocol) as well as the employment of people with disabilities in the mainstream labour market.

Since 2021 Klaus is also a board member of EuCIE – European Confederation of Inclusive Enterprises which represents about 4,000 inclusive employers in the EU.
