Laura Coccia Biography
Laura Coccia was born nearly three months premature, which led to contracting a bacterium that caused cerebral palsy, affecting her mobility.
She earned a PhD in Society, Politics, and Culture from Sapienza University in Rome at the age of 29 and speaks five European languages. Until 2010, she was a Paralympic athlete. From 2013 to 2018, she served as a Member of the Italian Parliament.
After her term, she focused on social communication, advocating for the rights of women with disabilities and fighting against discrimination and prejudice. Since January 2020, she has been the mother of Giacomo.
