Luisa Bosisio Fazzi Biography

Elected in 2019, Luisa Paola Bosisio is currently a member of the EDF Women Committee as Italian Disability Forum (FID) representative. Since 2007 she has been the president of FONOS – Fondazione Orizzonti Sereni, an organisation of parents of people with disabilities.

Luisa has been active in different disabled people’s organisations at local and national level since 1990 and was President of the National Disability Council (CND) until 2011.

She contributed with her expertise in projects and training courses in the field of human rights, mainstreaming of disability policies, non-discrimination in employment, rights and good quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities.

She gave her contribution to the drawing up of the Italian Disability Forum’s Alternative Report on the implementation of the UNCRPD in Italy, as well as to FID written submissions to the UN CEDAW Committee, the UN Human Rights Committee about the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, and the Council of Europe’s Group of Experts on Action against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence.

Luisa is very familiar with the European Disability Forum’s policies and represented EDF and FID at international and national events.
