Stephanie Wooley Biography

Deputy Board member ENUSP (European Network of (Ex)Users and Survivors of Psychiatry)
Board member in charge of international relations Advocacy-France
Stephanie has been honoured to represent ENUSP as an EDF delegate and to assist our former andgreatly regretted EDF Board member, Jolijn Santegoeds for several years. Stephanie has been involved
in defending the cause of persons with mental health issues and psychosocial disabilities for over 20 years in France and on the European level. The impact of human rights, self-determination and autonomy on all of our communities, including persons with psychosocial disabilities, so highly valued by EDF, must be fully understood and our rights upheld together. With the support of EDF, Stephanie has actively fought against the draft protocol to the Oviedo Convention including several live meetings
and advocacy sessions in Brussels and Strasbourg. She has been involved with ENUSP, as well as with Mental Health Europe (MHE) in Europe and on the home front in France to organise training sessions on our participation in the implementation of the UN CRPD, as well as collaborative parallel reporting and meetings with the CRPD Committee in connection with the reviews of France and the EU. She has also authored and co-authored articles on coercion-free and rights-based care and support and makes presentations at various national and European level events. In addition to an active volunteer life, Stephanie has a second life as a freelance legal translator and conference interpreter, and is passionate about communication. She would be very happy to continue to represent ENUSP within the EDF Board and contribute to reaching EDF’s objectives.
