Completed Ukraine war: OPD led disability inclusive response and recovery (Phase 2)
This project - funded by CBM - worked to ensure persons with disabilities and their representative organisations (OPDs) were included in the response and recovery of the Ukrainian crisis
From April 2022 until June 2023, the European Disability Forum (EDF) and CBM International collaborated on Phase 1 of a project to address the needs of persons with disabilities impacted by the war in Ukraine. This project was extended, with Phase 2 running from July 2023 until March 2025.
The geographical scope of the second phase focused on Ukraine, Moldova and Poland. Activities were carried out by EDF members in these countries, with international support at the European level from the EDF member organisation in Latvia and Inclusion Europe.

Overall objective
- To ensure persons with disabilities and their representative organizations (OPDs) are not left behind in the response and recovery of the Ukrainian crisis.
Specific objectives
- Strengthen the disability movement in the long term to better respond to humanitarian needs
- Ensure disability inclusion in the wider humanitarian response and reconstruction
- Address immediate needs of all persons with disabilities in collaboration with organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs)
