Call for tenders 2026: Easy-to-Read translation for EDF projects  

The European Disability Forum (EDF) is looking for a qualified and experienced translation service provider to submit their proposals for the provision of easy-to-read translation services to support three of our communication projects throughout the year. 

Practical information about the projects: 

The selected translator will be responsible for providing easy-to-read translations for 3 different reports:  

  1. Our Annual Report 2025 (40 pages aprox.) 
  2. The Human Rights Report (60 – 80 pages aprox.) 
  3. Another report on disability issues (40 – 60 pages aprox.)

The reports may vary in length, but it is estimated 300 pages in total. The reports may include maps, illustrations, images, charts, and/or infographics.   

The successful provider should: 

  • Translate reports from English into Easy-to-Read format.  
  • Layout and formatting of the translated reports, including the integration of images and/or other visual elements.  
  • Providing final deliverables that meet accessibility requirements.   
  • A review by a self-advocate. All proposals must demonstrate meaningful involvement of persons with intellectual disabilities.

The selected Easy-to-Read service provider will be involved in three different communication projects over the course of the year. 

Timeline: 

To be discussed. The reports will have different timelines throughout the year. 
We expect completion withing 3 weeks of delivery.   

Requirements: 

  • Demonstrated experience in providing easy-to-read translation services, preferably in the field of disability rights or related areas.  
  • Should be registered in a European Union country.  
  • Capacity to deliver high-quality translation and design solutions within defined timelines, while adhering to EDF’s brand guidelines and values.
