Call for tenders: Graphic designer for EDF's DATA project

The European Disability Forum (EDF) is looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and experienced graphic designer to support us with the graphic design of a research report for the project “Accommodation and Technological Assistance for Employment (DATA)” funded by Google.org.

The graphic designer should be available to collaborate with us until 30 June 2024, when the report should be delivered.

Practical information about the report

  • There will be two reports – One short report of approximately 30 pages containing infographics, and one longer report of approximately 140 pages with text only.
  • Both reports will need to be completed in a digital version, and the shorter report of 30 pages will also need to be available as a print-ready report.
  • Combined, both reports come to around 100,000 words of text
  • The first report will include 5 accessible maps and infographics (You can check examples of past reports at the end of this call).
  • Can contain visuals reflecting the nature of the text where appropriate.

The successful provider should

  • Design separate cover page with braille markers and a QR code for printing.
  • Design all the graphic parts of the report, including the maps and infographics.
  • Print-ready version and accessible PDF.
  • Accessibility check by a third party.
  • 3 rounds of review of the final deliverables.
  • Provide creative input, designing materials, and ensuring that all deliverables meet the highest standards of accessibility.

The selected designer will be working closely with the EDF social policy team and communication team.

Timeline

The final report needs to be available in accessible PDF form in early June. The summary report must be in print-ready format by early June.

The exact date can be agreed directly with EDF’s Social Policy team.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in accessible design principles and techniques, with a focus on digital accessibility.
  • Capacity to deliver high-quality design solutions within defined timelines and project constraints, while adhering to EDF’s brand guidelines and values.
