EDF Photo Competition 2023. 'Breaking Barriers - Stories and voices of women and girls with disabilities’

The European Disability Forum (EDF) is announcing its open call to submit entries for its annual photo competition 2023.

Women and girls, particularly those with disabilities, are consistently left behind in various aspects of life. Across all life stages, women encounter both instances of discrimination and opportunities for growth, challenges, and achievements that shape their experiences.

The EDF Photo Competition 2023 ‘Breaking Barriers – Stories and voices of women and girls with disabilities aims to challenge participants to present images that break down stereotypes and preconceptions surrounding women with disabilities from diverse cultural, background, and/or ethnic contexts.

We are seeking pictures that capture their everyday lives, struggles, and accomplishments, covering a broad range of topics, including gender and social equality in:

  • work,
  • sports,
  • health,
  • education,
  • culture,
  • accessibility,
  • activism and leadership,
  • maternity and
  • personal identity.

This competition is open to all who wish to contribute to portraying the empowerment of women and girls with disabilities around the world. Your photograph may amplify their voices and show their stories.
