EU Conference "Technology in employment. A step towards inclusion" May 11th 2024
from9 am to 1 pm

Online and in person in Ljubljana

Persons with disabilities, who already face stigma and other disadvantages when it comes to finding employment, are particularly impacted by the increasing space technology occupies in the world of work. Not only are persons with disabilities less likely to have been able to develop the digital skills required by the open labour market, but all too often they are denied existing assistive devices or technologies they require to be able to use digital tools at work.

How can we facilitate the access to the open labour market for persons with disabilities through increasing digital skills and accessible and assistive technology?

The European Disability Forum, with the support of Google.org, organised the conference “Technology in employment – A step towards inclusion” which will take place on Saturday 11th May 2024 in Ljubljana, Slovenia at the  Four Points by Sheraton Ljubljana Mons, Pot za Brdom 4, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia.

During the conference will be presented the findings of the research on DATA project – European research on Digital Skills, Accommodation and Technological Assistance for Employment (DATA) conducted by the European Disability Forum (EDF) with the support of Google.org. The aim of the study was to explore the situation of persons with disabilities in the open labour market, focusing in particular on the potential of digital skills training and the use of accessible and assistive technologies to foster inclusion in the workplace.

The Conference is part of the DATA project, supported by Google.org.

The Conference will be live-streamed in listen-only mode. It will provide real-time captioning in English.

The in-person participation capacity has been reached, so please use this form to register for Online attendance and EDF will send you the Zoom link to join. Thank you!
