The 2024 European Day of Persons with Disabilities (EDPD) conference will take place in Brussels on 28-29 November.
Hosted by the European Commission in partnership with the European Disability Forum, the event aims to raise awareness and address the challenges faced by persons with disabilities. It aligns with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the EU’s Disability Rights Strategy 2021-2030.
This two-day event will feature debates and discussions with policymakers, experts, and disability advocates, marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

This year’s European Day of Persons with Disabilities (EDPD) conference takes place at a crucial time, following the European elections and ahead of the new European Commission’s political priorities. The event will offer forward-looking discussions on the next five years’ strategic goals and initiatives, coinciding with the second phase of the European Strategy for the rights of persons with disabilities.
Key topics include employment, independent living, and transport, with a special focus on accessibility in cities, marking the 15th anniversary of the Access City Award. Discussions will highlight lessons learned since 2010 and explore how cities can be more inclusive, accessible, and sustainable.
