EDF Annual Report 2023

EDF Annual Report 2023

We are pleased to present our 2023 Annual Report. This year the disability movement demonstrated our power to drive change when we stand united.

The year 2023 has been marked by significant achievements and tireless advocacy for the rights of persons with disabilities across Europe. Our efforts have resulted in the approval of important directives, impactful projects supporting individuals in crisis regions, and influential gatherings shaping the future of disability rights. This report highlights our key initiatives, collaborations, and the progress we’ve made towards a more inclusive and accessible Europe for all.

We would like to specially highlight:

  1. The approval of a directive for an ambitious European Disability Card and improvements to the Parking Card scheme after a long campaign.
  2. Our support for the safety of persons with disabilities in Ukraine, impacting over 18,000 people and contributing to the Ukraine Facility proposal for accessible and inclusive recovery investments.
  3. Co-hosting the 5th European Parliament of Persons with Disabilities with over 700 attendees, including notable speakers, and adopting the EDF Manifesto on the European elections 2024.
  4. Successfully advocating for the inclusion of women and girls with disabilities in the Directive on Combating Violence Against Women, focusing on banning forced sterilisation.
