EDF response to the Commission consultation on a Citizens Energy Package 2025

The Citizens Energy Package will be a new EU strategy which aims at reducing energy poverty and achieving a fair energy transition. While the EU decided in its 2019 “Green Deal” to phase out fossil fuels, we need to think about the practicalities of this energy transition now.

Persons with disabilities are also consumers and use energy products and services. Many persons with disabilities are also affected by energy poverty and are, like other consumers, worried about the affordability and energy prices.

Therefore, EDF has contributed to this EU consultation to illustrate the challenges persons with disabilities face in their rule as consumers and demands that the perspective of vulnerable consumers is taken into account when developing the new Citizens Energy Package.
