2022 was an important year for the EDF Youth Committee. During the year, the Youth Committee experienced significant milestones and involvement in various events:
- A New Youth Committee selection and handover of responsibilities took place in September.
- 2022 was declared the European Year of Youth by the European Commission.
- Active presence in Stakeholder groups, Youth Dialogues, and the first-ever 24-hour Global Disability Summit for the MENA Europe Region.
Throughout 2022, the Youth Committee also focused on Mental Health, resulting in a Mental Health and social media webinar and valuable tips for maintaining mental well-being while using social media.
The Committee hosted or co-organized 2 webinars, 3 workshops, 2 committee meetings (online and in-person), and contributed to 20 other events. In this sense, the Committee had also a notable attendance at events such as the LevelUP Event at the European Parliament, featuring a workshop on organizing inclusive events.
The Committee produced a Youth newsletter, authored messages for Youth Day and European Day of Persons with Disabilities, and posted 7 blog articles on EDF’s website, along with 2 news items.
Finally, they had an active involvement in EDF’s European Year of Youth photo competition.
In 2022, the Youth Committee achieved remarkable progress and active participation, marking a year of valuable contributions within the disability and youth movement.
