Ukraine Updates, 29 September
  • Last week we met in Brussels with our donor, CBM International, to share updates on our joint Ukraine programme. With the support of our Ukrainian partners, the National Assembly of People with Disabilities in Ukraine and the League of the Strong, we discussed the results achieved, the upcoming activities and the future of our partnership with CBM on the humanitarian response in Ukraine.
  • We have published an article that provides an overview of our Ukraine programme from April until now. The article details the programme’s achievements in numbers, describes the main milestones reached and introduces its next phase: in the upcoming months, the focus of the programme will shift from responding to the immediate needs of persons with disabilities from Ukraine to disability inclusive recovery and building the disability movement in the long-term.
  • “Women with disabilities know what they need and are capable of expressing what they need and of working with others to develop working solutions”. Our colleague, Phillipa Tucker, wrote an article reflecting on the many layers of complexity and challenges that women with disabilities from Ukraine experience, inspired by the realities of the many women she met during her field visits to our project partners in Eastern Europe. Read the article on our Disability Realities blog.
