We have published our response to the European Commission’s consultation on the draft Delegated Act on the European Disability Card and the European Parking Card Directive (Directive 2841/2024). This Act can only add technical details. It will not change the scope or other aspects of the Directive, as it is a type of supporting document.
We welcome the draft Delegated Act to bring more clarity on the technical aspects of the Cards, which will hopefully facilitate and speed up implementation of the Directive.
We also support the addition of security features to avoid fraud. However, this cannot be done at the expense of the privacy of the cardholders or the accessibility of the Cards
It also needs to be ensured that no new accessibility barriers are created.
